MERLIN DAY ACADEMY

Merlin Day Academy is a unique, sensory integrated therapeutic school that believes all children with disabilities can learn with the right instructional, environmental, and therapeutic support. Our mission is to provide students, ages 6 to 14 years-old, with neuro-diverse learning needs an intensive, individualized special education that cultivates relationship-based, family-centered care to strengthen students’ educational and functional skills through building self-efficacy to become active, successful participants in their community.

The Merlin Day Academy was founded in a similar manner as Blue Bird Day. While many Blue Bird Day clients were able to transition to a traditional school upon graduation, some clients required a more supportive, therapeutic school environment. Dr. Mraz founded Merlin Day Academy to provide this much needed service to Chicago area families, and we opened a brand-new facility in Avondale to support the continued growth of Merlin Day Academy. Merlin Day Academy is proof positive of our continued commitment to support our clients at all stages of their growth, development, and learning.
